Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? Can I pay cash?Tickets must be purchased in advance as tours sell out ahead of time. Every person on the tour must have a ticket. Tastings can not be shared. To maximize your chances of getting the day and number of tickets you prefer, please book well in advance. Cash is not accepted. To check availability dates and buy tickets online, visit 'Burgh Bits and Bites Food Tour. Please note, all sales are final. We prepay food tastings and are unable to reschedule tickets. No refunds.

How much food is served on the food tour?Each tour offers 5-7 stops for tastings. Enough food is offered at tasting that, for most, a meal afterwards is not needed.

What if I have dietary restrictions?We CAN provide substitutions for vegetarians, but we CANNOT make substitutions for any other food allergies (such as gluten aversions, lactose intolerant or dairy-free) or dietary preferences (such as vegan). Substitutions for vegetarians, must be requested in advance with your ticket purchase. All food has been prepared in advance at each location, based on the information you provide to us at the time of ticket purchase. Last minute dietary changes the day of the tour will not be accommodated for any dietary restrictions. This is a carefully produced foodie adventure! We work with only the best food partners. Therefore, keeping streamlined policies ensures that guests have a consistently high quality experience. Some partners see us multiple times a day, so we want to minimize mistakes and ensure a positive experience for our partners and our guests. We are sorry if this is an inconvenience. Our Food Tours and events have been designed to highlight the best and most distinctive foods from each establishment. There isn’t always a “next best” option that meets the special dietary needs of each of our guests. Since we care about your health, palate and overall experience, we truly appreciate your understanding of this policy. If you have SERIOUS FOOD ALLERGIES and are concerned about contamination, please contact us or call us at 412-901-7150 before purchasing tickets for any of our Food Tours or events.

Are there any beverages served on the tour?A bottled water is provided at the tour start for each participant. You are welcome to bring additional water.

Can I purchase items during the tour?In order for us to stay on schedule, we ask that you wait to shop until the tour is completed. But we encourage you to go back to the small businesses that we visit during the tour and support them!

Are cameras allowed on the tour?Yes! Cameras and filming are allowed during the tour. Please feel free to tag us in any social media posts you make.

Would this tour be of interest to a local Pittsburgher?Yes even locals can learn new things about the neighborhoods and the city in which they live.

Do I need to purchase a ticket for young children or infants?The tours are 2- 2.5 hours in duration, some children have a limited attention span and therefore the tour may not be appropriate for them. You know your child best, and should assess the situation individually. Since there is a lot of standing and walking, please consider this when purchasing your tickets. Age recommendation is 10 and older. We are happy to answer any questions you may have to help you determine if this is appropriate for your family. Is the tour wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?Due to small food establishments, some places are not conducive to strollers or wheelchairs. Some tours can be customized to accommodate these requirements. Please contact us.

Do you offer private group tours?We welcome private group tours. To book a group tour of twelve or more people, please contact us.

Does the tour leader accept gratuities?Gratuities are not included in the public tour ticket price. Gratuities are always appreciated.

Do you ever cancel tours?Although it is very rare, we do reserve the right to cancel in case minimum enrollment is not met. In the case of cancellation, we will reschedule purchased tickets to another date.

If a tour is sold out can I get on a waiting list?We do not officially provide a waiting list. If a date is sold out, there is always a chance that we will add an additional tour. Please email us at info@burghfoodtour.com or call (412) 901‑7150 and let us know what date you are interested in.

How do I redeem my Gift Certificate?Please check tour schedule and availability calendar. Book directly online with your certificate code.

Private Tour Contract InformationPrivate Tours: Purchased less than 30 days from a tour date Full payment made by credit card via PayPal or check is required immediately to hold a specific date, time slot, and tour guides. Private Tours: Purchased 31-90 days prior to a tour date A $100 deposit is required to hold a specific date, time slot, and tour guides. A deposit made by a credit card via PayPal will hold the date immediately. Remaining balance (non refundable) is due 20 days prior to the tour. Please note. All sales are final. We prepay food tastings and are unable to reschedule tickets. No refunds. A $35 service fee is charged for returned checks.
